Vanessa Y Jones

Vanessa Jones was born November 6, 1954, in Gary, IN to Fern and Wilbert Jones (both deceased). Vanessa received her formal education at Tolleston High School in Gary, IN. She later moved to Milwaukee, WI, where she started her long career in the medical field as a Brain & Injury rehabilitation Nursing Assistant. Vanessa’s favorite things to do was spending time with her family first and foremost. She took everyone under her wing and offered a helping hand in any way that she could. She loved to crotchet blankets for her grandkids when they were born and often gave them as a token of her love to her friends and family. Vanessa loved to cook, listen to Gospel and R&B music. She loved to enjoy life and was deeply loved by many. Through the years, Vanessa was best known to be an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother (Gigi), aunt, sister, and loyal friend to all who met her. Vanessa Yvonne Jones departed this life on October 10, 2021. She was proceeded in death by her Father and Mother, Wilbert Jones and Fern Jones, her great grandson, DeVaughn Rapheal Momen-Johnson, Evansville, IN, her brother, Lester Jones Sr. (Shirley Jones) of Milwaukee, WI, her sister, Patricia Jones of Milwaukee, WI, her grandmother Carthel (Bailey) Lillard of Gary, IN, her brother Wilbert Jr. Beard of Illinois, her uncle, William Vaughn, of Gary, IN, her aunt, Jean Bailey of Gary, IN, and her aunt Celestine Baily of Gary, IN. Among those left behind to cherish her memories are her children; Jacqueline Jones-Glenn (Evansville, IN), Michelle Rodgers (Abraham Rodgers III) (Milwaukee, WI), Michael Simpson Sr. (Janice Mixon) (Milwaukee, WI), Telora Bates (Steve Bates) (Evansville, IN), and a God daughter, Keyanna Wells (Milwaukee, WI). Vanessa has many grandchildren, Frederick McFarland, Denzael Jones, Vanessa Quarles (George Quarles), Christopher Jones, Larenzo Reel Jr., Tamarra Reel, Marion Roberts, Quanesa Simpson (Giyea Collier), Nyesha Simpson, Michael Simpson Jr., Kevin Davis Jr., Tarahji Ellsworth, Paul Ellsworth Jr., and Ko’Orra Taylor. She has many great grandchildren; Khiryn Jones, Brayden Quarles, Divine Quarles, Apollo Jones, Liam McFarland, Jackson Quarles, Adreme Jones, Harmonie Quarles, Kaydein Love, Kaylee Love, Kaylahni Bryant, Kayeir Bryant, Deonte Roberts, Isabella Roberts, Alicia Harrell-Simpson, Giyea Collier, Keith Davis, and Avionna Davis. A memorial service will be held at the Cremation Society of Milwaukee, Milwaukee WI on Thursday, October 21, 2021. Interment will follow in the Riverview Room at Hart Park. The address is 7300 W. Chestnut Street, Wauwatosa, WI 53213. The family thanks everyone for all the prayers in our time of grievance.
