Vanessa Krystle Kehren

Kehren, Vanessa Krystle found peace on October 4, 2021, age 36. Vanessa was a 2003 graduate of Hastings High School (valedictorian) and then attended the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated with a BA, magna cum laude, in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory, with a minor in French Studies and Women’s Studies. Shortly after graduation, she moved to New York City and began her career with Little, Brown & Company as an editorial assistant/assistant editor (2007 – 2012) and with Blue Rider Press (2012 – 2015) as an editor. Vanessa moved back to Milwaukee in 2016. She joined Roundy’s in 2017, and then Harley-Davidson Motor Company in 2018 as a New Product Intro Coordinator / Project Analyst. Vanessa was a kind, loving young woman, with a caring and gentle soul. She lived life her way and strived to do her best in whatever she did. She is survived by her mother, Peggy (Al) Taylor of Warrens, WI, stepmother, Jean Kehren of Welch, MN, stepbrothers and stepsisters, Julie (Mike) Bethke of Augusta, WI, Dona (Michael Timm) Sprague of Fall Creek, WI, Joe (Christine) Randall of Portales, NM, Daniel Reynolds of Denver, CO and Douglas (Pam) Reynolds of Las Vegas, NV. Also survived by aunts, uncles, other relatives and many dear friends. Vanessa was preceded in death by her father, Karl William Kehren, grandparents, Bernard & Dorothy Wold and William & Hazel Kehren. Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 23 @ 2 p.m. of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Welch, Minnesota, with Paster Dan Nordin officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Instead of flowers, Vanessa would want you to express your love to those you value.
