It is with profound sadness and love that the family of Timothy W. Spaight announces his peaceful passing on July 3, 2026, at the age of 68. 

He was born in 1958 to John and Jean Spaight of Waterford, Wisconsin. After graduating from Waterford High School, he spent several years in the National Guard, met his wife, Maureen (Balk), while working locally, spent several more years in the Air Force, and then started and operated a small business in Paducah, Kentucky, where he and his wife raised their daughter, Jennifer. 

Tim loved to play golf, play cards, watch sports, shoot pool, and spend time “employing his system” at the casino. He was known for his sense of humor, gentleness, a sympathetic ear, and desire to help people.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maureen; father, John Spaight; brothers, Larry (Butch) and Jim Spaight; and aunts, uncles, and grandparents. 

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Spaight) Shelton; granddaughter, Stacy Shelton; mother, Jean (Baker) Spaight; sisters, Jane (Spaight) Bodden and Patricia (Spaight) Lancaster; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. 

The family will hold a private gathering to share memories and celebrate his life.
