Buhrandt, Thomas W.
Passed into eternal life on Friday June 15, 2012 at the age of 73 years. Beloved husband of Charmian (nee Beaty), wonderful Dad to Becky Rotter (Francis) and Susie Simons (Dr.Kurt). Loving Grandpa to Josephine and Spencer Rotter and Jack and Zachary Simons. An undetected infection stole Thomas from us. Thomas was raised in West Allis and graduated from West Allis Central. He earned a BS degree in Education and a Masters' Degree in Guidance Counseling from UW-Milwaukee. He was a proud member of the Kappas Fraternity. He taught science at Audubon Jr. High and later became a guidance counselor at Audubon Jr. and Hamilton High School. He served his active military duty in Munich, Germany and ended his career in the Army Reserves with the 84th Division. He retired with the rank of Lt. Colonel. Thomas' retirement years were happily spent on cruise ships, on the beaches of Ft. Myers or on his lake retreat in the North Woods. He will be remembered for his easy smile, a good laugh and a love of vacationing. We will miss him dearly.
Many thanks to the staff at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for the excellent care Thomas received. Sincere gratitude to the caring staff at Tudor Oaks, Muskego and the warmest thanks to the compassionate staff at Seasons Hospice, Waukesha. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 28th 2012 at Hales Corners Lutheran Church. Visitation from 6-7pm with service at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please make donations to "Limbs for Life" or the charity of your choice.
