Mukwonago, WI – Susan Marie Palmer, age 71, born to eternal life on April 7, 2021. She was born in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Robert and Loretta Svikel. Susan graduated from Pulaski High School in 1967 and was 1st violin for the All-City Orchestra. Susan was united in marriage to her devoted husband William Palmer on November 22, 1969. They shared 52 years of marriage, raising two children, and building a successful honey and beekeeping business. The first chapter of their marriage was spent in the Toronto area where they established lifelong friends and were close to the Canadian family.
Mid-70’s they made the brave decision to pack up the family and move to Calgary to try out a new life, but Susan missed being near the water. Moving to Milwaukee near family was the next major decision for their lives. Susan worked for various local companies including Minnesota Title, Warner Cable, Johnson Controls and finishing her career and retiring from ShopperTrak in Chicago. Susan actively participated for many years with SHAW Youth Hockey to support her son’s hockey dreams.
After her children were grown, you would often find her enjoying new shows and movies on Netflix or Amazon Prime; reading and researching through Audible or other educational outlets; finding new and cutting-edge gadgets on QVC or HSN; working with William to grow East Troy Honey into the success it is today and actively participating in the Wisconsin Honey Producers Association. She loved listening to music but could never remember the words or hold a tune; the grandchildren did not mind and would giggle and sing along with her.
Susan is survived by her devoted husband and lifelong partner William; loving daughter Margaret; cherished son Matthew (Kristi); treasured sister Lori (Dave Del Grande) Svikel; her pride and joy grandchildren Adam, Abigail, and Cora Palmer. Also survived by loving relatives and close friends Sophia Del Grande; Michael and Cathy (Robert, Caitlin & Peter) Stiefel; Delores Svikel; James & Judy (Brett & Bart) Warburton; Bette (Mark, Lori & Gregg) Samoyloff.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Richard, and her close friend Inge Warburton.
Services will not be held at this time. Condolences can be shared in her name to the American Diabetes Association by following the Memorial Donation Form ADA tab located on the left side under Susan's photo.
Her last months were spent enjoying snuggles from her Georgia, her grand-puppy Leia and we know her spirit will live on playing with Lilly, George, Molly, Rusty and other departed family pets.
