S.K. Buschman

January 17, 1929 — March 8, 2025

S.K. “Busch” Buschman was born January 17,1929, in Webster Groves, Missouri. On March 8, 2025, he joined his favorite girl, Joanie, in heaven. He was the youngest of three boys to Henry and Eunice Buschman. Upon finishing school, he hopped on a train and headed to Grafton, Wisconsin, to work in the engineering department at Power Products. Busch’s “whatever it takes” attitude provided him with many different roles within the organization.

Eventually the company was acquired by Tecumseh Products where Busch would remain for 41 years in Sales Leadership roles. Then retired and looking for a new adventure, he found Meinecke Ace Hardware and became their Service Manager and life advisor until he was 87 years old.

First and foremost, Busch was a husband to Joan for 62 years and a father to Ann Nebhan, Mark (Deb) Buschman, and Scott (Chrissy) Buschman; along with 8 grandchildren: Dr. Caroline Nebhan, Zach Buschman, Luke Buschman, Jake (Hali) Buschman, Joe Buschman, Nicole (Cory) Reynolds, Billy Buschman, and Jimmy Buschman. His life was centered around his family with many great adventures, epic road trip vacations, along with watching his kids and grandkids participate in various school, scouting, and athletic endeavors. Even though he traveled extensively for his career, he seldom missed an event.

Busch’s engineering expertise allowed him to tackle all home, car, and landscape projects. He loved being outdoors and cutting wood was a favorite pastime. He could literally fix anything. He enjoyed sharing that knowledge with his kids and grandkids. There were many days where Grandpa could be found with his head under the hood of one of his grandkids’ cars or trucks solving yet another mystery.

Busch’s faith was a large influence. He and Joanie were early members of the Mequon United Methodist Church founded in the early 50’s. He taught Sunday School for teens and sat on various boards and committees over the years. In the later years, Busch and Joan traveled the world with Joan organizing every detail in their itineraries, returning home with countless stories, pictures, and gifts for all.

If you were lucky enough to meet Busch you would remember how positive and optimistic he was and his incredibly powerful handshake that he bestowed on everyone from the youngest to the oldest because he truly was happy to see you. He was a kind man, always interested in what you had to say. He helped all of us understand what unconditional love looked like.

Busch loved all dogs. He had many over the years settling on German Shorthair Pointers as his favorites. In memory of Busch we will be planning a celebration of his life with family and friends to be notified. If you would like, you can make a donation to Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha-HAWS
