Steven Carl Rippl

January 2, 1950 — August 1, 2019

After a struggle with cancer that claimed his physical body, Steven Rippl was born to eternal life on August 1st, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Beverly, his children DJ (Rachel - Tacoma, WA), Kelly Jean (Milwaukee, WI), Erin (Erik Rohde - Terre Haute, IN), and Dan (Gina - St. Paul, MN) and 7 grandchildren. Following a successful and storied career in venture capital and private equity investing, including nearly 30 years with Capital Investments Inc., Steve liquidated his last fund and retired in 2004 to devote more time to mergers and strategic acquisitions for some of his former portfolio companies. In 2010, Steve joined his friend, Dave Davis, and Jeffrey Reimer at Securant Bank & Trust to form a “Work Out” division to manage distressed assets. Securant was subsequently acquired by First Citizens Bank in October 2018. Aside from his career in business, Steve cherished time spent with his wife, Bev, their family, and friends. Steve also loved his Saturday morning Bible study, traveling, and getting away to their cottage in Wautoma, Wisconsin. Steve was an Elder and founding member of his church, Grace 242 (grace242.org). He was also a long-time volunteer at the Milwaukee Guest House, a residential shelter for men, the Cathedral Center Shelter for Women and Children, and Feeding America of Southeastern Wisconsin. Home at last. Just a regular guy who loves Jesus. We will celebrate Steve’s life on Saturday, August 10th at 10:00am at the Mequon Nature Preserve (8200 W County Line Rd., Mequon, WI, 53097). We hope you will join us as we share memories of Steve, enjoy good food, and rejoice in a life well lived. In lieu of flowers, Steve’s desire was that donations be made to the Milwaukee Guest House (guesthouseofmilwaukee.org).
