Ruth Thompson of Milwaukee, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 26, 2022, at the age of 78.
Ruth was a longtime Federal Civil Servant of the United States Postal Service. Ruth was a very dedicated employee, and she was one of the nice people at the Post Office who would answer the letters from children writing to Santa at Christmas time. She was extremely gifted and giving, especially when it came to crafts such as knitting and crocheting. She was the one who would always make an Afghan or baby blanket to give as gifts. Ruth taught craft classes at the Milwaukee Clinton Rose Senior Citizen Center after retiring and she would make crochet slipper socks and donate them to anyone who needed them. Ruth was a devout Lutheran and she made sure that her children knew the Lord by providing them with a private school Lutheran education. Ruth was very caring and had a big heart because she was always ready and willing to help anyone in their time of need.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Donna J. Patterson, Felicia A. Sykes, and Shari (Timothy) Thompson-Ball. Ruth also had a son, Anthony Washington, who has previously passed on.
Ruth’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Horizon Home Care and Hospice for their compassionate care. I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Cremation Society for their very caring, professional, and compassionate service in my family’s time of sorrow.
