Ronald Joesph Sametz was born on March 28, 1942, to Joseph and Alice Sametz (nee Dedynksi) in Milwaukee. He passed away peacefully on January 11th at the age of 81 after a battle with Leukemia.

Predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Wendy (nee Logan) and brother, Richard. Survived by his sisters, Diana Krohn and Arlene Sametz; his niece, Jodi Mommaerts; and nephews: John (Sue) Mueller, Scott (Amy) Kolesari, and David Kolesari. Further survived by his great nieces and nephews: Ryan, Jessica, Brayden, Jennifer, and DJ; special friend, Nancy Lou Sponholtz; and other relatives and friends.

His passion for baking began with his first job working at a local West Allis bakery while he was a teen. He continued his career as a member of the Teamsters, working and retiring from Kohl's Food Corporation. He brought joy to all family members by playing the harmonica for them on their birthdays. He often shared stories of his love of the Green Bay Packers, hunting, fishing, and time spent with family and friends in northern WI. He was a lifelong member of St. Rita’s Catholic Parish and proud Army veteran.

Special thanks to Dr. Guru and the Leukemia care team at Froedtert Hospital, his friends at Heritage Senior Living, and the Badger Hospice team, especially Nurse Alyse and caregiver Dawn, who spent time listening to his stories, caring for his needs, and being a friend in his last days.

Private family ceremony to be held; memorial donations appreciated to St. Rita’s Parish 2318 S 61st St. West Allis, WI 53219.
