Roberta "Bobbie" Ann
Kuhnke
Nov 23, 1935 — Sep 8, 2026
Kuhnke, Roberta Ann, age 90 years, was born to eternal life on September 8, 2026.
Bobbie Killian was born on November 23, 1935, in Watertown, WI, and was a proud graduate of Watertown High School class of 1953. She attended UW-Whitewater where she met her first husband, William Behl. When Bill died in 1961, his good friend, Donald Kuhnke, was a great support for Bobbie and her two young daughters. Bobbie and Don fell in love and were married for 54 happy years. After raising their family, Bobbie had several secretarial jobs including working for Prison Fellowship and Time Insurance. She had a strong faith and was a very active member, first at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Milwaukee, then at Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Pewaukee. Bobbie loved to sing and was a choir member all her life. When she and Don moved to Kirkland Crossing, she continued to volunteer on resident committees and was the designated librarian. Bobbie and Don loved to travel around the United States, Europe, and were often in the bleachers for their grandchildren’s concerts and sporting events. Bobbie developed a deep bond with all her grandchildren and great- grandchildren, and enjoyed their visits, phone calls, video chats, photos, and artwork.
Bobbie will be dearly missed by her children: Susan (David) Taylor, Marjorie (Bob) Ricci, and Jeffrey (Beth) Kuhnke; grandchildren: Brian (Krystle) Ricci, Julie (Peter) Flood, Dan (Milana) Ricci, Katie Taylor (Garrett Tiedemann), Sam (Kattie) Ricci, Rosie (Brandon) Voelker, Ben Kuhnke, and Sarah Kuhnke; and great grandchildren: Sienna, Declan, Nick, Matthew, Alex, Trinity, Tatum, Delilah, Ella, Ollie, Carson, Vinny, Brooks, and Brynlynn. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Crystal Killian; her sisters, Kathleen Lynch and Joan Quay; her infant brother, James; and husbands, Bill and Don.
A Celebration of Life for Bobbie will be held on a future date. In lieu of flowers or memorial donations, the family asks that you consider donations to The American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Association, or your favorite local library.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Harbour Village for their compassionate care for Bobbie the last two years, and the staff at St. Croix Hospice for their empathetic care and assistance these last weeks.
