Robert Judson Williams

Robert "Jud" Williams passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026 with loved ones surrounding him.

Born September 10, 1939 in Baltimore, MD to Sylvia & Vandervoort Williams, Jud attended school there to include graduating from Loyola College in Maryland in 1961. He continued those boyhood relationships throughout adulthood to include attending his 65th reunion of his high school Baltimore City College Class of 1957 in 2022. Additionally, he was a proud member of the Loyola College in Maryland’s Golden Greyhound Club which honored alumni who celebrated the 50th anniversary of their graduation in 2011.

Jud moved to Milwaukee, WI in 1970 to pursue a job opportunity, where he resided until the time of his death. With his best friend Eddie Hymes joining him in Milwaukee from Baltimore, Jud became a cherished family member, and was known as Uncle Jud to generations. He was also very close in life with DiMarie Smith and her family in Illinois, who also called him Uncle Jud. Jud was included for decades of both families’ holidays and celebrations, which continued throughout his life.

A jack of many trades, Jud was a partner in a telemarketing fundraising company doing work for police and firefighter organizations in both Wisconsin and Illinois. After selling his majority interest in the company in the 90’s, Jud attended Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee and received his teaching certification. He enjoyed teaching with the Milwaukee Public Schools until his final retirement.

He was deeply devoted to God and was proud of his 52 years of sobriety recognized just days prior to his death. Jud was an active member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Menomonee Falls and The H.O.W to Club of West Allis.

In addition to the love of his friends, he was an avid traveler and frequent visitor to Australia. While his last trip down under was just before the pandemic of 2020, he often spoke about wanting to return for “one last farewell tour” while he could. He also enjoyed cruising and was fortunate to sail the Caribbean for a final time from New Orleans in November 2024.

Jud was preceded in death by his parents and sister Vandy Rioux and is survived by his son Christian Williams (Kym Ahrens) and grandson Quinn of Seattle, WA and step-sister Patricia Dunning of Atlantic Beach, FL. He is further survived by an extensive extended family including Aunt Louise Williams of Cockeysville, MD, Virginia “Lydia” Cassel of Germfask, MI and Yvonne & David Bennett of Milwaukee, as well as the many “adopted” nieces and nephews, who will remember him fondly as Uncle Jud. The number of friends he leaves behind is a testament to his friendliness and love for others.
