Richard Allen
Paape
July 7, 1959 – April 15, 2026
Richard Paape, born July 7, 1959, passed away on April 15, 2026.
Richard was a hardworking man whose dedication and strength shaped the lives of those around him. He took great pride in providing for his family and was known for his unwavering commitment and resilience.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—especially playing bingo, where his laughter and lively spirit were always present. Above all, Richard was the glue that held his family together, a constant source of love, support, and encouragement. During his retirement, he especially enjoyed traveling to sunny Florida, where he cherished time spent visiting family and making lasting memories.
He had a special love for animals. He deeply cherished his dog, Tyson, who passed before him, and his kindness extended to all creatures—even feeding the squirrels and caring for the small lives around him.
Richard will be remembered for his big heart and the unconditional love he gave so freely. His presence brought comfort and strength to his family and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his two daughters, Lila Perdue (James Perdue) and Tina Berens (Tom Berens); his granddaughter, Madyson Berens; his grandson and granddaughter, Cory and Savannah Perdue; and his six siblings: Donna Reuter, Linda Schroeder, Gerald Paape (Cheryl Paape), Joyce Irving (Michael Irving), Dennis Paape (Dawn Paape), and Robert Paape (Kaaren Paape). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Paape; his mother, Marion Paape; his son, Arron Paape; his brother, Michael Paape (Nancy Paape); and his sister, Patricia Donnell.
Richard’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his friends, coworkers, and neighbors for their kindness, support, and companionship throughout his life. He touched many lives and will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
