Surrounded by his loving wife and children, Rick was taken away much too soon on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at the age of 69. Treasured husband for 40 years of Darlene (nee Althiser). Cherished Dad & Paw of Matthew (Carley) Drall and Erin (Tom) McKay. Proud and fun-loving “Baka” of Lucy, Meredith and Gabe. Rick was preceded in death by his parents Gene & Sylvia Drall. Left to honor his memory are his brother, John, sisters Linda and Vicki (Jeff) Marshall and sister-in-law Natalie Raynes.
After being a dedicated employee for 30 years at the Village of Greendale, Rick was lucky to enjoy almost 11 years of retirement. Being a mechanic by trade, he liked to tinker in his workshop, whether it be building new things or fixing old things. Rick truly enjoyed being with his dad at his cabin up north, especially during hunting season. When his children, Matt and Erin, were old enough to hunt with them, many wonderful new memories were made. Fishing always made him happy, whether fish were caught or not. Rick was a proud member for many years in the Waukesha Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol as a Lieutenant.
But most of all, Rick adored being “Baka” to his grandbabies. It didn’t matter what they did together, fishing, playing games, planting carrots, taking a bike ride or just snuggling watching TV.
Rick did not want a traditional service, but instead a gathering of his family and friends to celebrate his life with love, laughter, jokes and maybe a drink or two. Please join us on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 1:30pm till 3:30pm to celebrate the life of Rick at Sandra’s on the Park Restaurant, 10049 W. Forest Home Ave., Hales Corners.
Rick loved his family beyond measure. With his death, the world has lost a truly genuine, kind and gentle man.
My love, you will forever be in my heart, today, tomorrow and always, Love Sweetums
