Richard "Hommy" Gregory, age 78, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026. Born on August 19, 1947, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Gertrude Gregory.

Richard was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, caring brother, and loyal friend. He shared a lifetime of love with his beloved wife, Doris Gregory, who preceded him in death. They met at a young age and built a remarkable life together, one filled with love, commitment, and cherished memories. Their enduring bond was an inspiration to all who knew them.

Richard is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Tim, and Lynn and Nick; his cherished grandchildren, Reegan and Timmy; his brother, Ken Gregory; and his cat, Gibson, "The Prick." He was a proud and supportive father who taught his daughters many valuable life lessons and was always there with guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love.

Richard attended Rufus King High School in Milwaukee, where he was a straight-A student. He was an accomplished gymnast who excelled in the still rings and was also a certified scuba diver. Following high school, Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. While stationed in New Jersey, he and Doris began building their life together. During the Vietnam War, Richard served as an airplane mechanic, contributing his skills and dedication in service to his country.

After his military service, Richard became an accomplished electrician, earning the respect of coworkers and friends through his skill, strong work ethic, and dedication to his craft. He worked at Briggs and Stratton.

Richard's passions included hunting, fishing, and making people laugh. Known for his outgoing personality and gift for storytelling, Richard could light up any room with his humor, warmth, and quick wit.

His friendships were a special part of his life. He looked forward to spending time with his friends at the archery club and enjoying lively Sheepshead games, both of which became treasured parts of his routine, as well as his hunting and fishing trips with friends. Richard also held deep appreciation for the neighbors who looked out for him, offered help when needed, and shared in friendship over the years. Their kindness and companionship meant a great deal to him and to his family.

Those who knew Richard will remember his generous spirit, kind heart, unwavering devotion to family, and ability to find joy in life's simplest moments. He was deeply loved and respected and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, perseverance, and friendship.

Richard was loved, he will be missed, but he will always be remembered.

Visitation and Funeral Service:

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in New Berlin, Wisconsin, beginning at 10:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., with a luncheon immediately afterward.
