Phillip Henry “Buzz” Schwartz, of Silver Lake, WI, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the age of 72. Born in Chicago in 1946, Phillip apprenticed as a tool and die maker before joining the Chicago Police Department. In the mid-80s he moved to Wisconsin with his family to begin a new chapter and return to the practice of his tool and die trade until his retirement in 2015.
Known for his great wit and sense of humor, Phillip was happiest spending time with friends and family. He was generous with his time as a friendly “handy man” to those around him. His insight was always heartfelt, and his laughter and smile filled the air with warmth and compassion.
Phillip is survived by his two loving sons, Peter (Heather) and Paul (Maia), grandchildren Ethan and Sloane, sister Alice Williams, mother of his children, Patti Zurla, and many other friends and family. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Lorraine.
A private memorial service will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Meals on Wheels program through the Kenosha Area Family & Aging Services (kafasi.org/donations.html). Those who wish to submit their well wishes to the family or share memories of Phillip can do so on the Guest Book of his memorial page.
