A Life's Journey of Dedication

Patricia Ann Messner, a devoted mother, passionate social worker, and beloved member of the Milwaukee community, peacefully left this world on Friday, June 23rd, 2023.

Patricia, affectionately known as Pat, was born just a few days before Christmas in 1945. Harriet and John Tronson, a couple who would later become full-time Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus in their retirement years, lovingly adopted her as their own. Pat spoke often of how Grandpa John, in particular, shaped her into the strong, independent woman she became.

Pat attended Pius XI High School where she began to develop her compassionate nature. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, laying the foundation for her lifelong calling and dedication to making a difference in the lives of others.

Her tireless work for the State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections spanned several decades, initially as a Social Worker and later as a Parole Officer at the Racine Correctional Institution. She touched the lives of countless individuals, providing support, guidance, and a second chance to those seeking to rebuild their lives. An early trademark of her tireless advocacy was championing the rehabilitation of youth offenders.

Her son, Jon Messner, her greatest source of pride and joy, held the key to her heart. Their bond was made unbreakable by unconditional love. Jon and his wife, Phyllis, were a constant source of happiness and support for her. She adored her grandchildren, Sierra & Seijan, who brought immeasurable joy to her life

Pat devoured crime novels, loved gardening, and had a special place in her heart for animals. She dedicated her time to volunteering with dogs, running agility courses, and offering her love and care to those in need. Her beloved Eskie, Teddy Bear, was her constant companion and source of comfort.

Pat was passionate about theater and Milwaukee sports teams; her favorite being Stormin Gormin and the True Blue Brew Crew

She was a gorgeous woman, and as a young mother, danced to Tom Jones with complete abandon, in bell bottom flares and a cigarette smoldering in her outstretched hand, scattering delight and smiles around the room.

Her mark on the lives of others is indelible and her memory will forever be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
