Nathan "Nate" Peter Gruber

Nov 6, 1982 — Jun 2, 2026

Bayside

Nathan "Nate" Peter Gruber, age 43, passed away on June 2, 2026, surrounded by the family he adored. Born on November 6, 1982, Nate grew up in Port Washington, WI, where he attended Port Washington High School. He later achieved his Associate’s degree from Cardinal Stritch University and eventually settled in Bayside, WI, proudly purchasing a home in his dream neighborhood to raise his family.

Nate was a man of quiet brilliance and unmatched wit. He possessed a razor-sharp, delightfully dry sense of humor, legendary for delivering the fastest, cleverest comebacks in any room. He had a mind like a steel trap for random facts and somehow knew a little bit about everything, making any conversation with him both fascinating and hilarious.

Over his lifetime, Nate worked many different jobs, but everything truly clicked when he landed at Milliman IntelliScript. It was there that he genuinely found his place, excelling in his work and building a career he fully intended to stay with for years to come.

Above all else, Nate’s greatest achievement and deepest joy was his family. Together with his wife, Angela, he built a life centered entirely around family, laughter, and their three daughters. He was a dedicated, hands-on father who poured his heart into his girls. He spent countless hours playing soccer and coaching Reese’s and Sadie's teams at the Bavarian Soccer Club, passionately cheered on Liverpool FC, and learned everything he could about volleyball to proudly cheer on his eldest, Blake.

Nate is reunited with those who passed before him, including his grandparents, Bob and Ruth Gruber, and Haydee and Miguel Landa, as well as his beloved father-in-law, Tony Kirst.

His legacy of love will be carried on by his wife, Angela Gruber; his three cherished daughters, Blake, Reese, and Sadie; his mother, Martha Landa Sampson (Dennis Sampson); his father, Tom Gruber (Sharon Gruber); and his sister, Monica Gruber (Oscar Conde), along with his niece and nephew, Chloe and Owen. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Bonnie Kirst; his brother-in-law, Alex Kirst; his father-in-law, Joe Arredondo (Chris Selley); and a beloved circle of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews who adored their Uncle Nate, as well as the many close friends and teammates whose lives he touched.
