Michael James Guy Peed, a beloved husband, father, son, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on October 2, 2026, after a long illness. Born on August 16, 1972, in Port Hueneme, California, Mike lived a life played at full volume.
Michael was the cherished son of Terry Peed and the late Karen Salazar. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Zachary Michael Peed, and his sister, Carrie Roll. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 18 years, Michelle, and three wonderful daughters, Caleigh, Theodora, and Fiona.
Mike lived his life with a deep devotion to his family and a relentless work ethic. He dedicated over 20 years to the trucking industry, working his way up from driving the rigs to guiding them as a dispatcher and ultimately leading as an operations manager. To his coworkers, he was a pillar of reliability and hard work, leaving a permanent mark on everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Beyond his professional life, Mike, aka Cowboy X, was fueled by music. From the age of 13, he found solace and joy in playing guitar and bass, sharing his talent in various bands, including The Voodoo Hippies, Honey, and Lockjaw, throughout the years.
In honoring Mike’s life, his family has chosen to hold a private celebration to remember the remarkable man he was. While he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
As we reflect on Mike’s legacy, we remember a man who lived with passion, loved with all his heart, and left behind an excessively large collection of black band T-shirts.
