Michael Lee Abel

Michael “Mike” Abel went home to his Savior on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the age of 79, after a lifetime of loving everything about life. A devoted husband to Andrea and a supportive father, Mike brought joy and optimism to everyone he encountered. He was a charismatic soul, never one to complain, and his zest for life was infectious.

Mike loved bowling, golfing, and attending festivals—always the life of the party. In his later years, he found joy in the simple pleasures of spending time with family and friends. He was a true Wisconsinite, proudly cheering for the Brewers, Packers, Bucks, and Badgers. Fridays were sacred for his favorite tradition: a good fish fry.

Mike’s greatest pride and joy were his family. He is survived by his three children: Michele (Travis Braden) Abel, James (Karen) Abel, and Joe (Jen) Abel. To them, he was the perfect example of a father and role model. He always showed up—no exceptions, no excuses. Whether it was a sporting event or school activity, Mike was there with unwavering support; a constant presence in their lives.

His four grandsons—Bryson, Camden, Maxwell, and Mika—were the light of his later years. He adored them and never missed an opportunity to wrap them in a warm hug. Whether he was reading to them, laughing at their stories, or patiently listening to their passionate explanations about video games or TV shows, Mike made every moment count. And just as he did for his own children, he made every effort to show up for them too.

Mike’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the Mardi Gras Room at Village Bowl (N86W18330 Main St, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051).
