Maryann Garneau

December 11, 1957 — April 28, 2023

Garneau, Maryann. Reunited with Christ in eternal freedom on April 28, 2023, aged 65. Maryann was a beloved mother, grandmother, woman, and friend. She gave all of herself to those dear to her regardless of her own needs, and she was the greatest advocate of her three children. She was brilliant, quick in generosity, and boundless in affection. She lived a difficult life but never stopped dreaming big. We will never forget her sunny smile or the bubbly laugh that shook her whole body. We will miss her love for simple little joys in life, like cardinals, willow trees, blue and white dishes, or her children’s art, projects, fishing photos, or phone calls.

Maryann wrestled through many trials on Earth but clung to the Lord Jesus with childlike faith. Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven” (English Standard Version, Matt. 18.3-4). Maryann left a strong example of these words.

Maryann is survived by her daughters, Michelle (Bryan) and Alex (Vern); her son, George (Carissa); Rob, her boyfriend of 12 years; her mother, Helen; her brother, Ed, and her brother Bill (Cindy); and her sister, Patti (John). Maryann is further survived by five beautiful grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Maryann’s children held a small private memorial at Whitnall Park in Hales Corners, WI, at 3 PM, on Thursday, May 4. Maryann’s siblings held a second memorial for their mother and extended family at Clement Manor in Greenfield, WI, on Thursday, May 4, at 5 PM.
