Mary Beattie Muschinski

June 23, 1927 — August 24, 2023

Franksville

Mary Beattie White ( nee Greenlees) Muschinski, at the age of 96, passed away peacefully on August 24th, 2023, in Franksville, WI., with her daughter, Mary J. Muschinski, lovingly at her side.

Born June 23rd, 1927, in Hartford, Wisconsin, to James and Mary (McAlpine) Greenlees. Mary’s parents had immigrated to the United States from Edinburgh and Glasgow, Scotland. Her father worked for the Kissler Car Company till it closed during the Deep Depression. The Greenlees family then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mary attended Forest Home Avenue Elementary, Manitoba School, and Pulaski High School, in Milwaukee.

Mary would meet and attend Prom, at Pulaski High School, with her future husband and love of her life, Joseph J. Muschinski. They reconnected after World War II and married on December 9th, 1950, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They would build their home and raise their 2 children, Mary Jane and Joe Jr., in Franksville, Wisconsin. Mary worked for the Gas Company prior to becoming a homemaker. There would be many memorable fishing trips as a couple and family to Eagle River and Canada. She also enjoyed the family trips to Arizona and Lake Powel.

Mary loved wildlife, animals, and the outdoors. Throughout her life she had cats or dogs as pets. There were a variety of pets that her children acquired as well. She also supported and helped take care of her daughter’s horses for a period of time.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, and knitting, as well as ice skating on the family pond and downhill skiing with family and friends. Mary’s favorite music was Jazz and any music with the Bagpipes. She was very proud of her Scottish Heritage. She was a fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and MIlwaukee Bucks. Her good sense of humor made family and friends laugh. Mary was a very sweet and kind lady to everyone.

Mary was the Loving Mother of Mary Jane Muschinski and survivied by Sister In-Laws, Mary Antonovich, Patty Mucha, and Colleen Muscha. Additional survivors include nieces, nephews, cousins in Scotland, and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her Husband and the love of her life for 57 years, Joseph John Muschinski; Son, Joseph James Muschinski; Parents, James and Mary (McAlpine) Greenlees; Brothers: James, Robert, and Arthur Greenlees; and Sisters: Ruth Nortman, Helen Shears, and Jeanne Zimdars.

Mary will be deeply missed but her legacy lives on through the memories shared by family, friends, and lives that she touched throughout her lifetime.

Per Mary’s request, there will not be a service or funeral. Family would like to thank Aurora Home Hospice Care Staff for their love and compassion to Mary and making her feel comfortable. Thank you Nurse Lisa for honoring Mary’s wish and making it possible for her to go to the Milwaukee County Zoo. She said that “it was wonderful and that she will never forget.”
