Mary Alyce Radowski

June 21, 1920 — April 2, 2022

A wonderful lady rejoined her husband when Mary Alyce Radowski passed away on Saturday, April 2. While there is deep sadness among the many she leaves behind, Mary Alyce longed to be reunited with Walt, her husband of 74 years. Mary Alyce was a Green Bay West High graduate, who later attended White Water State Teacher’s College where she met Walt. After their marriage and Walt’s return from his service in World War II, they raised three children in their new house on Redwood Drive in Green Bay where they lived for over 60 years. Mary Alyce participated in her church and community. She was a popular Brownie and Girl Scout leader, presided as President of the Holy Rosary Society of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, and taught Business Ed at West High School and at Sacred Heart Seminary. Mary Alyce prided herself in being part of the first class of the Life Long Learning Institute of the UW-Green Bay. Reading, gardening, sewing, and crafting filled her spare time. After their children left home, Mary Alyce and Walt built her dream cottage on Shay Lake in Townsend, Wisconsin. Her wildflower gardening skills grew as did her lasting new friendships. Mary Alyce and Walt’s final years were spent at Harwood Place in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin where they lived closer to family and established a large and meaningful network of friends. Mary Alyce’s selflessness in taking care of Walt during his last years was a testament to their love story. Mary Alyce is survived by her three children, Barbara (Fritz) Buss, Mary Ann (Drew) Fitzgerald, and Steve (Maryann) Radowski, her five surviving grandchildren, and her eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother John Neu and sisters-in-law Donna Neu and Andrea Neu. Besides her husband Walt, she is predeceased by her two grandsons Kevin Fitzgerald and David Radowski, her parents Frank and Mary Neu, and her brothers Bob Neu and Frank Neu. The list of family and friends who will miss Mary Alyce would take 101 years to write. Funeral Services for Mary Alyce will be held on Friday, June 24, at Holy Rosary Church, 2011 N. Oakland Avenue, Milwaukee, WI. There will be a visitation starting at 11:00 with the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at Noon, officiated by Father Tim Kitzke. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lakes Country Library in Lakewood, WI are appreciated. Mary Alyce lived a life of love, friendship and faith, and she will be greatly missed by all.
