Kim Marie Steffes

Kim Marie Steffes also known as “New York Kim” born July 13th, 1965, in Milwaukee, departed her loving family on May 17th, 2024, at age 58, after a long and rough battle with cancer. 

She is survived by her spouse, Steve Zajakoski; daughter, Tiffany Ferreira; and 3 beautiful grandchildren, Aaliyah, Amaya, and August. She is predeceased by her Mother, Gloria Steffes; Father, Carlos Garce; and sister, Cheryl Steffes. 

She will be deeply missed by family friends and all who knew her. Kim worked at ALDIs before being diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cancer in 2020. She loved her job and customers loved her just as much because of her welcoming smile and talkative nature. She literally made a friend anywhere she went. In her free time Kim enjoyed reading, going to see movies, and spending time with family and friends. What she loved the most was traveling to warm places where she could put her pretty polished toes in the beach sand and swim in the ocean.

A celebration of life in honor of Kim will be held on June 13th, 2024, at 4pm at the Wisconsin Athletic Club (Club Pub) located at 1939 S. 108th St., in West Allis. The gathering will be an informal get-together where friends and loved ones can come together to celebrate Kim's life, share memories, and raise a toast in her honor. Your presence and shared memories are welcomed as we remember Kim with heavy hearts, love, and affection. ❤️
