Kenneth Edward Sigler, age 80, of Brookfield, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024, at 11:40pm, surrounded by loved ones. Born on April 14, 1944, Ken was the beloved son of the late Elaine and Franklyn Sigler.
Ken leaves behind his devoted wife, Lynn A. Sigler, with whom he shared forty five wonderful years of love and companionship. He was the proud father of Scott Sigler (Diane), David Sigler (Donna), Megan Willyerd (Nathan), Mackenzie Sanger, and Jon Selear (Kristin). Ken’s legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Corey Sigler, Kyle Sigler, Zach Sigler (Claire), Brittany Sigler (Steven Albergo), Ally Sigler, Madison Miller, Peyton Miller, Callyn Sanger, Cooper Sanger, Gabby Selear, and Alex Selear. He was also a loving great-grandfather to Jaxson Sigler and eagerly anticipated the arrival of two more great-grandsons later this year.
Ken was a dear brother to Lynn Geoffrey (late Wayne), late Jeanne Szarek, Glenn Sigler (Laurie), and Dennis Sigler. His extended family includes numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives, all of whom held a special place in his heart. Ken's warmth and kindness also made him a beloved neighbor and a friend to many, creating a wide circle of connections that spanned generations.
In his professional life, Ken spent many years in the hospitality industry, mentoring others and fostering lifelong friendships, particularly with his Burger Chef crew. Ken ran his own handyman business, Handy Hands, and after retirement, he took great joy in "supervising" others on their projects.
Throughout his life, Ken had a love for animals. He raised finches and enjoyed bird watching; maintained massive fish tanks of African Cichlids, many of which outgrew his tank and found a forever home at the Milwaukee County Zoo; and doted on the many pets he had, including his dog, Moose, who never left his side and will miss him dearly.
Ken’s life was marked by a rich array of hobbies and passions. He enjoyed activities like snowmobiling, fishing, NASCAR, Wisconsin sports, and driving his cherished 1984 Chrysler LeBaron. Ken treasured family trips and loved listening to music on the road; especially rock 'n' roll and country music. His sweet tooth was well-known, with cashews, Oreos, and candy being his favorite treats. Later in his life, Ken enjoyed his weekly card games with the ladies and relaxing on the porch, always offering a wave and smile to those passing by.
Ken created a home that was truly a gathering place for family and friends, with an open door that welcomed all. He was a man who loved deeply and laughed often, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories.
The Sigler family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Ken’s care team, especially nieces Jeannette Selear and Ali Lanktree, Aurora Home Hospice Care, and the compassionate staff of Aurora Zilber Family Hospice, who provided unwavering support during his final days.
Ken will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Zilber Family Hospice.
An open house celebration of Ken's life will be held on August 25, 2024, from 10am-4pm in the Rotary Building at Frame Park.
