Kenneth “ Kenny” Brzenk, dear father, brother, and son, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the age of 68. Survived by his mother, Patricia and his children, Adria (Dan), Joel, and Mandy (Adisak), granddaughter Mila, brothers Jim, Dave (Denise), and Tom (Michelle). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and countless additional relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his father, Raymond and sister, Kathy.
Kenny is remembered for his humor, generosity and devotion to family. He loved being around people, telling stories and making jokes. He was always singing, teasing, and telling outrageous tales just for the sake of making people laugh. Willing to sacrifice everything for his kids, he had an unwavering commitment to family under any circumstance. A running joke in the household for decades was his insistence on having the kitchen cabinets bursting with food so no one would ever go hungry.
Being well-informed was of great importance to Ken. He absorbed every story he'd come across in the daily paper and, in more recent years, online. Local sports also filled a lot of his time, as well as his wardrobe. More often than not, you'd see him sporting a Greenbay Packers coat, a Milwaukee Bucks t-shirt, or a WI Badgers hat, with the games on in the background. He relished the 40+ hours of research he'd put in before the NFL fantasy draft each year, and his teams always did well.
Ken's favorite destination was Up North in Arcadia, WI, which he lovingly termed “God’s Country,” to spend time with friends there. Deer hunting season was his favorite time of year, his most cherished tradition. He took great pride in teaching his son the ins and outs of not only hunting, but every skill he had learned from his beloved grandfather. Ken was an excellent overall “fix-it” guy, and repaired everything from model trains in his career, to broken necklaces, faulty electronics, and damaged windows at home.
Ken had a soft spot when it came to children. He also always enjoyed visiting the zoo, even after his kids were grown. And he especially enjoyed dressing up for Halloween and passing out candy to trick-or-treaters, taking joy in seeing the kids dressed in costumes. When his own kids were young, Ken captured as many moments as possible on camera, and he left behind an abundance of photos and home movies for his family to treasure.
He is already sorely missed by those closest to him. Special thanks to his caregivers at St Luke's Medical Center SICU. A private memorial will be held for only his immediate family, as per his wishes. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the local children’s charity, Next Door, or another charity of your choice, are appreciated. Please also consider contributing to his online memorial guest book at Cremation Society of Milwaukee's website.
