Obituary

Karen Ann Cook (Jendusa), age 64, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Karen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She shared 40 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Dennis Cook, and together they built a life centered around family and faith.

Karen was the proud mother of Kevin Cook and Paul Cook. She was also a loving mother-in-law to Haley Cook and a devoted grandma to her beloved grandsons, Oliver and Rhys Cook. Being a grandma brought Karen tremendous joy, and she loved every opportunity to spoil her boys and make special memories with them.

Family was at the heart of Karen’s life. She treasured time spent together and never took those moments for granted. She was fun-loving, warm, and known for her infectious laugh that could brighten any room. Even while facing many chronic health challenges throughout her life, Karen continued to smile, find joy in the little things, and make the most of every moment she was given.

Karen’s Lutheran faith was an important part of her life and provided her with strength, comfort, and hope. Her faith, love for her family, and joyful spirit will continue to live on in those who knew and loved her.

Karen is survived by her husband, Dennis Cook; her sons, Paul Cook and Kevin (Haley) Cook; her brothers, Thomas (Kathy) Jendusa and Steven (Kathy) Jendusa; her mother, Joan Jendusa; and her grandsons, Oliver Cook and Rhys Cook. She was preceded in death by her father, James Jendusa.

A memorial service celebrating Karen’s life will be held at St. Jacobi Lutheran Church (8605 W Forest Home Ave Milwaukee, WI 53228) on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service.

Karen’s greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely to her family. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
