MILWAUKEE –John W. Jacunski, 73, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 8, 2022, after a long battle with heart disease. He was born on August 4, 1949, in Wisconsin Rapids, the son of Julius and Marie (Heinrich) Jacunski.
John graduated from Assumption High School, Class of 1967. After graduation he attended Upper Iowa University on a football scholarship. He was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon; Nu Sigma chapter. After graduating with a Business Degree, he took a managerial job at K-Mart in Des Moines where he met his wife, Linda.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Jim, and son, Brent Husted. Surviving in addition to his Wife, Linda (Stump) Jacunski; Son, Brian (Lindsey) Husted; Daughter, April Husted; Grandchildren, Shayla, Sarah, Emma, and Madison; Brother, Richard (Sue) Jacunski of Hartland; Sister, Victoria Jacobson of St. Paul, MN; Sister-in-law, Mary Lou (Weiler) Jacunski of Plover, WI; Mother-in law, Dorothy Stump of Iowa; and Brother-in-law, George Stump of Georgia. Further survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends from Upper Iowa. Also survived by fur babies, Louie and Baby Girl.
John is fondly remembered by his love for his granddaughters, Wisconsin sports, playing sheepshead, struggling at golf, and a contagious laugh.
A Celebration of Life remembrance service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at St. Charles Parish in Hartland, Wisconsin.
