Jesse Ruppert, 35 years young, made his last cast far too soon on May 25, 2025, leaving behind a wake of memories, laughter, and an impression on everyone who met him.
Jesse was a full-time welder, part time comedian. He was witty, relentless and bold. What you were afraid to do or say Jesse wasn't. He defined fearless.
He proudly displayed his unique sense of humor and subtly offered you his golden heart. He protected the ones around him regardless of circumstance or outcome. He had a passion for cooking, reading and music.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, being on the boat and the serenity it brought him. Fishing was his peace, his patience, a place he could just be.
More than anything, Jesse was a proud father of two amazing boys. Teaching them the beginner stages of becoming men - how to protect, provide, and most importantly, how to fish. He gave them his best, and they gave him his reason.
He was wild, hilarious, complicated, loyal, maddening, but truly unforgettable. His stories, his laughs, his dirty puns, will live on in everyone who had the luck to know him.
Here's to Jesse - the angler, the welder, the cook, the brother, the son, the father; we hope the fish are biting on the other side.
Jesse is survived by his two sons, Maxwell (17) and Parker (5); his parents, Angela S. Ruppert and Perry S. Rick.; siblings: Brandon Ruppert, Whisper Rick (Josh Fettig), and Carter (Katie) Lavake; grandparents, Jacob and Sophie Ruppert; and many more family and friends.
Jesse was preceded in death by his grandparents, George Rick and Arlene Neuy, and beloved family dog, Marley.
Per Jesse’s wishes he will be cremated and there will not be a funeral. The family will be holding a celebration of life “The Last Cast” on June 14, 2025, at Ackerman’s Grove on Little Cedar Lake from 1:00 pm-???. Everyone is welcome to attend. It will be an open house event with snacks, drinks, stories, and remembering the good times. Again, this is not a funeral and the family requests that people do not wear black.
