Jennifer “Jenny” Gianou (née Olson) was born on July 29, 1980, in Racine, Wisconsin, to John and Maryann Olson (née Meyers). Jenny passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, following a year-long battle with cancer.
Jenny loved her family deeply. She is survived by her beloved husband, Daso Gianou; her children, Alekos and Eleni; and her sister, Elizabeth Olson. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maryann Olson; and her grandparents, Earl and Jeanette Meyers (née Burrows) and Walter and Margaret Olson (née Dreher). Her family meant the world to her, and her love for them will remain an enduring part of her legacy.
Jenny was a dedicated educator at Our Lady of Grace Academy in Racine, where she spent all 24 years of her career. To Jenny, teaching was about so much more than what happened inside a classroom. She cared deeply about every child who came into her care, making it her mission to ensure that each student felt loved, supported, and valued. Her impact extended far beyond academics, as she touched the hearts of the children she taught and the families she served.
Jenny had a rare and beautiful gift for giving. She would give whatever she could to anyone in need, never expecting anything in return. Whether through a kind gesture, a helping hand, or simply being there for someone, Jenny gave freely and wholeheartedly. She lived with a selflessness that put others first and reminded those around her what it truly means to care for one another.
Jenny’s passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her legacy will live on through the people she helped and the kindness and love she gave so freely. Though she is gone far too soon, the love Jenny planted in the hearts of others will continue to grow for years to come. She will be deeply missed and remembered with endless love.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from noon to 3 p.m. at Haben Hall, located inside Sacred Heart Church at 2201 Northwestern Avenue, Racine, WI. All are welcome to come together to remember, honor, and celebrate Jenny’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to support Daso, Alekos, and Eleni and help ease the financial burden of family expenses during this incredibly difficult time. Donations are welcome here.
