James "Jim" Walter Harvey

August 31, 1945 — October 18, 2022

Milwaukee

James (Jim) W. Harvey passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at the age of 77.  He was born on August 31, 1945, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Jim is survived by his two daughters, Amanda (Mandy) Rossbach (Don) and Erin Turner. He was a proud grandfather of Riley Rossbach, Ryan Harvey-Turner, Brady Rossbach, Cole Turner and Blake Turner.

He is further survived by his older sister Karen (Greg) James and nephews, Kevin Harvey (Debbie), Brian James and Brad James, and his great nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by both his parents, George, and Elizabeth Harvey, along with his brother Milne Harvey and sister-in-law Barbara Harvey.

After graduating from Riverside high school in 1963, he began his lifelong career as a well-known and respected tile setter and member of the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers District Council of Wisconsin, along with the Building Trades Local #5.

Jim was not a stranger to anyone as he made friends wherever he went. He enjoyed most days with walks and meeting his friends for breakfast.

He would often send pictures to friends and family of the deer, coyotes, foxes, along with whatever he was grilling that day from his patio.  As an avid Wisconsin sports fan, Jim could also be found watching the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Milwaukee Bucks games.

Jim had a love for pheasant, duck, and goose hunting. His passion of hunting will be carried on by his son-in-law, Don, and his grandchildren, as represented by his personalized Duck’s Unlimited license plate 4DAHUNT.

Upon his wishes, cremation took place, along with a private immediate family celebration of his life.

We are overwhelmed by the stories shared thus far and cannot thank you enough to those that have reached out. Please feel free to post your pictures and/or memories on this page, as we know he will be missed by family, friends, colleagues, and so many more.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family in Jim’s name would be appreciated and can be sent directly to Cremation Society of Milwaukee, c/o James Harvey Family, 2729 S. 108th St, West Allis, WI 53227.
