It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James W. Grygera, who died on January 20, 2025, surrounded by family at the age of 85.
Born on August 11, 1939, James was a brilliant engineer and a prolific inventor, holding 13 patents throughout his esteemed career. Beyond his professional achievements, he was a talented musician with a lifelong passion for the electronic church organ. This passion was showcased in a remarkable 60-year project where he rebuilt an entire organ, a true testament to his dedication and skill.
James was a loving father to his son, Timothy Grygera (Laura) and a cherished brother to Anthony Grygera (Nancy). He was also a loving grandfather to Jordan Berget (Lance), Noel Grygera, and Quinn Liedtke, and a great uncle to nephew, David Grygera.
Throughout his life, James was an active and dedicated member of his community, volunteering his time and talents to St. Lucy's Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and Troop 400 of the Boy Scouts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Mary Grygera; his granddaughter, Kaylee Grygera; and his brother, Ronald Grygera.
James will be remembered for his kind nature, sharp intellect, and his joy for building things, playing the organ, and spending time with his friends and family. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
