Jacob Lee Krzewinski, Jr. (also known to some as Jack or Jake), son of Jacob and Betty Jayne Krzewinski Sr., born July 26, 1955, passed sooner than expected leaving behind his current wife, Gail Lise Moran-Krzewinski, and the young children they cared for, Emmalee Krzewinski and Kaedance Dybus. Known as a man of strength and determination, Jake was suddenly consumed by multiple health issues and diagnosed with abdominal cancer. He passed in the loving care of the staff at St. Luke’s Medical Center as the sun rose on February 6, 2026.
In just 4 short weeks from the onset of his diagnosis, he was called to his heavenly home having completed his earthly assignment. He reached out to Father Steven of St. Steven’s Catholic Church for communion and confession and to accept the Sacrament of Healing. He had wished to have his marriage blessed by the Church to honor his mother. He often joined his family in celebration at Discover Church knowing the children were growing up learning the Word of God and practicing their faith with Gail.
In years past he was active with his brother-in law, Gerry Kinder, nephew, Gerry Kindler Jr, and his daughter, Shelley, at Hales Corner Speedway. As an avid racing fan, he had tons of pictures of Dale Earnhardt mounted. He had just started to fully enjoy his retirement from Tax Air Trucking (25 years) and became an avid fisherman spending days on end at the pier. He made rods for each grandchild and took them fishing when they visited. He spent hours playing in the pool with them being the whale that made waves to sink their floats. In the past he had actively hunted duck, geese, and deer with his brother, Jimmy, and so many other dear friends.
When Jake learned of his diagnosis, his first thoughts were of family--”his girls” and grandchildren’s missed school graduations and events; Megan’s upcoming wedding; Lincoln and Quentin playing ball; Lenny’s mischievous laugh and Frankie’s logical thought process; Cobie’s love of reading and horseback riding; Crighton’s silly, but talented thought process to build things like derby cars; and Kalie who will someday show the world nothing can hold her back. He was comforted because he knew Gail would be strong and protected by her faith and family.
The marriage between Jake and Gail was a second for both and each had their carts filled with past issues and dreams. Sometimes it was a real struggle, but they believed in love and God. They knew they had been chosen for each other to do something the Lord wanted done. Not often do people get a second chance at parenting, but with God on their team they knew they would succeed. Emmalee and Kaedance have been a blessing to them and they promised Grandpa they would help Grandma keep the family together and strong.
Though his leaving was quick and many things were left unsaid and undone, we are assured he is happy and in a place where he no longer has pain and suffering. We will not forget what he has taught us, and will continue to do the things he loved to do as a family. Jake chose cremation as his means of leaving his earthly form, citing “ashes to ashes”. God never intended for us to destroy the earth with our remains. I can hear him chuckling at Lenny who said he could now eat all the fruit in heaven and not pay for anything.
As you depart with your memories and stories to share, we thank you for your support and well wishes. On this day in March as spring marches forward, we hope you were able to connect with others in our Celebration of Life for Jake.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to support the many Christian and educational activities his girls hoped to do is requested. They can be given or sent to Gail directly.
