Jack Tony Williams said his last "See ya" on November 21, at the age of 72. Jack's friends will not be surprised to hear he ignored his doctors and lived much longer than they thought he should.
Jack was born in 1951 in Newcastle (WY) to the late Jack and Joyce (nee Brede) Williams. He moved to Milwaukee (WI) in 1957, attended John Marshall High School, raised hell, and served his country in the Army from 1968-1972, including time in Vietnam. He married Bonnie (nee Drews) on the first ever Sweetest Day in 1972 and their marriage led to 2 sons, 3 grandchildren, dozens of furry friends, and thousands of laughs.
Jack retired as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Milwaukee in 2006, and enjoyed the heck out of his retirement. He was always busy, with bowling & archery leagues, woodworking, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, dogs, boating, hunting, fishing from the pier, and anything else that might be fun. He and Bonnie loved to travel with friends, including their annual trips to Vegas to celebrate their anniversary and visit the craps tables.
Jack is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bonnie; sons, Jeremy & Justin; grandchildren: Anthony, Lindsay, & Alyssa; brother, Jim Williams; daughters-in-his-heart, Kari & Carole; extended family, and many, many friends. Everyone will miss him, although maybe they won't miss his practical jokes.
Jack never sat still. Until now.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jack's honor to the Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative (www.mhvivets.org).
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
