Harlan L. Burbey
March 17, 1941 – July 16, 2025
Harlan L. Burbey, AKA “Harley” or "Mr. Bee," of Greenfield, WI, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and warmth that touched all who knew him. Born on March 17, 1941, in Milwaukee, Harley and his beloved wife raised their children in Greendale, WI, and also lived in Milwaukee and Greenfield.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Harley spent his career as a skilled metal polisher and dental technician, but it was outside of work where he truly enjoyed life—especially in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, where he loved to fish, share laughs with his beloved wife Carole, and have a good burger. Artistic and good with his hands, Harley never met a car or boat that he couldn’t fix or make better... then sell and get another one.
Harley was a joyful spirit—always ready with a quick joke, a corny pun, or one of his signature phrases: “Is that ever sharp?” and “That is excellent.” His laughter and smile were always present. He found joy in life’s simplest pleasures and shared it freely with those around him.
He was a devoted husband to Carole and a proud father to his daughters, Tina Gordon and Terry Hybicki. Terry preceded him in eternal rest in August of 2024. His love for his family was unwavering, and he delighted in the lives and accomplishments of his grandchildren: Taryn Gordon, Taylor Gordon, and Natalie Hybicki.
Harley was loved deeply by friends and family alike. Whether fishing with a friend on a quiet lake or telling funny stories, he made people feel at home.
He will be profoundly missed and joyfully remembered.
