Geriann Dlapa

Geriann passed away peacefully at Aurora St. Luke’s Hospital after a battle with cancer, and a lifelong disability from spina bifida, surrounded by family and friends.

Geri is survived by her sisters: Mary Ann Breese, Margaret (Michael) Wiza, Susan Webb, and Pauline (James) Helman. Geri is also survived by nephews: Joseph (Holly) Leino, Anthony Leino, Randy (Heather) Webb, Gregory Wiza (Cherise Remiszewski), Addison, Willow Forbes, and James Wiza (Lindsay McConochie); and nieces, Kristy (Joe) Black and Emily (Philippe) Catrice. Geri is further survived by grand-nephews and nieces: Katie Leino, Makayla and Teagan Leino Poyner, Anthony (AJ), Brett and Chad Leino, Brody Webb, Samatha (Dennis) Pearson, Julieona, Brooklynn, Sawyer and Landon Wiza; and great-grand nieces, Genieve and Willow Pearson; as well as many cousins and aunts, Katie Lesch and Delores Benusa.

Geri is preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Pelchie Milek and Paul and Mary Dlapa; Geri’s parents, Harry and Marcella Dlapa; loving sister, Victoria (Vicki) Beer; late brother-in-law, Gary Jones Breese; and all other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Geri was a graduate of Oak Creek Senior High School, class of ’87. Geri was a great fan of the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers, and WWE wrestling. Geri’s favorite past time was to crochet and she enjoyed making baby blankets and afghans with her specialty granny square stitch. Geri took great pride in the fact that she was able to live her life as independently as possible.

The family would like to express many thanks to Geri’s health aide and special friend, Bernadette Rodriguez, and her caring friend, Diane Koenig, who helped Geri in so many ways, as well as the doctors, nurses, and staff of Aurora St. Luke’s Hospital.

A memorial service for Geri will be scheduled for a later date. We ask that those who want to honor Geriann be kind to others and do acts of kindness in her memory.
