Garrett James Smith

Garrett James Smith, age 49 of Woodruff, Wisconsin, lost his battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) at the Clement J Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center on January 2, 2024, the day before his 50th birthday.

Garrett is survived by his wife of 17 years, Jennifer, and their children: Everett, Gracelyn, and Caleb. Garrett is further survived by his children: Christopher Smith (Wendy), Brittany Lovins (Cody), Skylar Smith; and grandchildren: Lucas, Elias, Roxy, and Olivia.

Garrett served in the US Navy Reserves as a SeaBee with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He was an advocate for patients suffering from ALS. Donations may be made to iamals.org in his memory.

Garrett will be laid to rest at the Northwoods National Cemetery, Harshaw, Wisconsin, in the Spring.
