Emily Lauren Johnson

Emily (Velleman) Johnson, 35, of Greendale, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15th, 2024.

Emily was born on June 21st, 1989, in South Bend, IN, to Stephen and Nancy Velleman. She grew up in the Osceola area and graduated from Penn High School in 2008. Emily attended Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne and graduated in 2014 with a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Emily had a passion for the hospitality industry and worked for professional sports teams such as the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, and Fort Wayne Tincaps.

Emily married her beloved husband, Aaron, in 2017, and together they created a loving home filled with laughter and joy. She was a proud mother to their son, Joseph, who brought her immense happiness and purpose. Emily was dedicated to nurturing his curiosity and creativity, sharing countless adventures as a family.

Emily is survived by her husband Aaron and son Joseph; mother, Nancy Velleman; brothers, Paul (Kim) Velleman and Brian (Caley) Velleman; grandmother, Alice Milslagle; nephews, Aiden and Harlan Velleman; neice, Elise Velleman; parents-in-law, Neil and Sandra Johnson; brothers-in-law, Mark (Kate) Johnson and Caleb (Jaden) Johnson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Emily is reunited with her children Jack, Jacob, and Jocelyn; father, Stephen Velleman; grandparents; Paul Milslagle and Joe and Mary Velleman; and beloved dog, Luke.

Emily was a wonderful wife, momma, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. She will be remembered for her unwavering support for her friends and family, infectious smile, and positive outlook on life. As she would say, “We only part ways so we can meet again.”

The family is holding a Celebration of Life in Emily’s honor on Sunday, October 20th, 2024, at Castle Manor in Mishawaka, IN, from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
