Obituary

Dennis J. Euting, age 82, of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 16, 2026, after participating in the Run Tosa Run charity event. He was a gentle soul, devoted family man, and a loyal friend.

Dennis was born on May 13, 1944, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to Jerome Euting and Virginia (O’Connor) Euting. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James “Jim” P. Euting.

Dennis grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where he attended high school before enlisting in the United States Air Force. In true Dennis fashion, he would fondly joke that his time in the Air Force was spent “keeping the Viet Cong out of the bars in Wichita.” After his service, Dennis enrolled at the University of Wisconsin–Parkside in Kenosha, where he met his soon-to-be wife, Diane. He later moved to Milwaukee while attending classes at Marquette University. Dennis and Diane were married and made their home in Milwaukee, where they built a life rooted in love, family, friendship, and devotion.

Dennis was the beloved husband of Diane Euting, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage, devotion, friendship, and love. Together, they built a life centered around family, commitment, and quiet acts of care. Dennis was a loving and supportive father to Andrew Euting, Katie Euting, and Eric Euting, and an adoring grandfather to his only grandson, Emery Euting, who lovingly knew him as “Grandpa D.”

Dennis was a longtime employee of The Falk Corporation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and steady presence. Outside of work, Dennis lived an active and joyful life. He was an active community athlete and a longtime member of the Badgerland Striders Running Club, and the November Project. He enjoyed jogging, cycling, swimming, and participating in local running events. There, he found friendship, community, and the simple joy of being around others. His commitment to movement and sports reflected many of the qualities he carried through life: discipline, sportsmanship, patience, and quiet determination. Dennis also enjoyed playing the ukulele, spending time with family, and savoring some of his favorite treats, including Peanut M&M’s and Nutty Bars.

Those who knew Dennis will remember his gentle soul, kind heart, and wonderful sense of humor. He had a gift for making people smile with his dad jokes, his warmth, and his easygoing nature. He was the kind of person who showed up — always. Whether for his family, his friends, or the people he cared about, Dennis offered his presence fully and faithfully.

He had a special way of giving small, meaningful gifts, each chosen because it held personal significance for him. These gestures reflected who Dennis was: thoughtful, sentimental, caring, and quietly generous. He taught those around him the value of sportsmanship, patience, hard work, kindness, and loyalty. His life was not defined by grand displays, but by consistent love, gentle humor, and the steady devotion he gave to the people around him.

Dennis deeply loved his family and friends. He treasured time spent socializing, sharing stories, and laughing with those he loved. To his family, he was a source of unconditional comfort and support. To his friends, he was genuine and always a joy to be around.

Dennis will be missed more than words can fully express — his laugh, his stories, his jokes, his kindness, his little gifts, his presence, and everything that made him who he was. His legacy will live on in the family he loved so deeply, the friendships he cherished, and the countless memories he leaves behind.

A memorial service will be planned for a future date.
