Carl Renae Howse was born in Cook County, Illinois on February 6, 1978 to Rosemary Howse and Johnny Watson. As the third child born into a youthful marriage, Carl was named after his uncle, Carl Renae Howse — yet from a very young age, Carl embodied a personality that earned him the nickname, “Ca-Ca”. With a fun-loving nature, extremely bright smile and unforgettable sense of humor, Carl soon became a reliable little brother to two and an irreplaceable big brother to two —
As “middle child” (and “Momma’’s favorite”), he loved exploring the outdoors, executing household chores, providing safe havens for family pets, and building community within the world around him. After a family move in 1985 from Chicago, Illinois to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Carl would graduate from Cass Street Middle School, attend Riverside University High School, and build a legacy of lifelong relationships, friendships and great memories throughout Milwaukee’s Lower Eastside. He then went on to have a beautiful daughter and journeyed through life as a carefree spirit.
On August 15, 2024, Carl tragically lost his life to a violent homicide in Milwaukee County, and through God’s Grace, earned his eternal stripes with the Most High Merciful.
Carl leaves behind brothers, Antwionne Watson and Shaaf Howse; sister, Dominque Howse; his beloved daughter, Dayja’Niya Jenkins; as well as two nieces and two nephews.
Carl also known as “Carlos”, “Cock G” and “Los”, joins his beloved mother, Rosemary Howse; biological father, Johnny Watson; and best friend and sister, Tamika Ventura Watson in the afterlife.
Carl maintains a legacy of laughter, lightheartedness, and loyalty; as well as a gentle remembrance. His physical life will be forever missed by family, friends, community, and tribe.
May he rest in power.
