Bruce spent most of his adult life in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, where he built both a career and a community. Over the years, he worked for the Milwaukee Sentinel, A.O. Smith, and Waukesha Engine, and later brought his talents to life as a script writer for a real estate company. He proudly served his country in the Army Corps and was a VA veteran.

A lifelong musician, Bruce began playing the trombone in high school and never put it down. Music was one of the great joys of his life. He played in Dixieland bands throughout his years, including Don Nedobeck’s North Water Street Tavern Paraders and the New South Rampart Street Paraders. Whether performing at gigs or singing along with his bandmates, Bruce found happiness in sharing music with others.

Bruce was also deeply committed to giving back. He volunteered at an elementary school, spending time with young children was an extension of the love and patience he showed so naturally in his own family life.

He was a graduate of North Syracuse High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Albright University in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Yeo; his mother, Margaret “Peg” Gunn; and his brother, Donald Yeo.

He is survived by his children: Kim Yeo, Nathan Yeo, and Bethany Yeo. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Asia Butler-Yeo and Bella Butler-Yeo, and a cherished great-grandfather to Nia Knicely and Samuel (June) Knicely, Jr. He is also survived by his nephews: Collin Yeo, Ian Yeo, and Tyler Yeo.

The greatest highlight of Bruce’s life was his children, grandchildren, and family. He was a loving father and son who always showed up steadfast, present, and reliable whenever he was needed. He had a big heart, a gentle spirit, and a deep love for good food, especially Chinese and Italian cuisine, and all sweets.

Bruce will be remembered for his devotion to family, his love of music, his service to others, and the way he made people feel supported and cared for. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the music he shared.
