Bernard (Bernie) M. Foreman, age 63, passed into new life on February 28, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bernie is survived by his wife, Mary (Hard); his siblings, Susan (Michael J.) Bettenhausen and Alan (Barbara); two sisters-in-law, Rose (the late Fred) Berger and Suzanne Hard; his nephews, Gary Foreman and Michael L. Bettenhausen; one aunt, and many cousins.
Bernie was born in Chicago on April 28, 1959, to (the late) Arlene and (the late) James Foreman. On October 24, 1981, sweethearts since their teen years, Bernie and Mary were happily wed on the South Side. They lived in Chicago until moving to the Milwaukee area in 2000, when their jobs with JCPenney were relocated. Bernie was a warehouse worker with JCPenney for 26 years.
He enjoyed fishing and camping and loved to travel, especially to Florida for NASCAR races and to Las Vegas for shows and entertainment.
For Bernie there truly was no distinction or separation among friends, neighbors, and colleagues—all were family to him. He easily created a kind, caring, and fun-loving community everywhere and freely gave time and support to anyone in need. Bernie’s joyful spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Bernie’s life will be held at a later date.
