Barbara Mae Kostrzewa Radke, 83, was born to eternal life on April 10, 2023, after an extended stay at St Luke’s Medical Center and Harbour Village Memory Care. She followed her husband of 63 years, Jack Radke, who passed on March 26, 2023, as if Heaven itself planned it so neither would be left alone.
Barb was born on November 4, 1939, to Helen Fregin and Conrad Kostrzewa in Milwaukee. She grew up in the Milwaukee area, graduated from Cudahy High School, and began her working career at Ladish, Allen Bradley, and retired from M&I bank. She married Jack Radke and they settled in Cudahy. Barbara loved her community and volunteered her time to support education. She is known for her beautiful, cheerful smile and contagious laugh. Barb loved trees of all kinds. She and Jack enjoyed building a place “up north”, planting trees and flowers to make it a special get away. Barb loved her animals! She owned several Scotty dogs over the years and many kitties that were her pride and joy!
She is survived by her brother, Wayne Kostrzewa (Diane Matykowski); nephews, Paul Kostrzewa (Patty Schultz) and Jeffrey Kostrzewa (Jennifer Plewa); cherished niece, Terese Kostrzewa Boudart (Tim Boudart); along with grand-nieces and nephews, many great friends, and family she adored.
The family would like to thank the staff at St Luke’s Medical Center, Harbour Village memory care, and Allay hospice for their compassion and care during Barb’s last 3 months.
Because of Barbara’s love for all animals, we welcome donations to the Humane Society in Barb’s honor.
Services and Celebration of life to be held privately.
