Arla Foye

Foye, Arla Ann (Oswald) , beloved wife of the late Floyd K. Foye, peacefully passed away January 16 at age 87. Surviving family includes sons: David Foye (Barbara Zalud) of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; Michael (Dianne Peck) of St. Louis, Missouri; Brent (Mary Jo Schrimpf) of Muskego, Wisconsin, and daughter, Colleen (Rick) Tolliver of Amery, Wisconsin. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, two granddaughters in law, two great grandchildren and a sister, Virginia Eisemon. Arla was born in Kewaunee, Wisconsin, October 4, 1930, and grew up in Madison, Wisconsin. After her marriage to Floyd K. Foye in 1951 they shared life in Air Force bases during the Korean War, and eventually settled in Greenfield, Wisconsin. Arla received a BS degree in Art Education from UW-Milwaukee. Arla enjoyed sharing her passion for art with her children, grandchildren and others as a member of the regional spinning guild and other art groups. She continued her art practices winning a number of show awards in mixed media- painting, fiber art, and ceramics. Arla also took great delight and art inspiration from nature and the outdoors, particularly hiking and cross-country skiing the Wisconsin trails. A family and friends celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 26th, 11:30am at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, Wisconsin.
