April Joy Brand

Milwaukee- April Joy Brand, died young at 58 years old unexpectedly on April 13, 2020 at St Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee, with her sister and daughter at her side. She was born in Chicago, on April 19, 1961, the daughter of Robert Peter and Marcia Jean (Rathburn) Piek. April lived in Milwaukee all her life. April completed 9 th grade at Fritsche Middle school. She married and divorced at a young age and had her first daughter, Michelle. April later found the “love of her life,” Albert D. Davis. She later had three daughters with Albert; Laura, Julia and Kayla. April was predeceased by her parents and Albert. Surviving family include her daughters; Michelle Arredondo (Piek) and spouse Jose, Laura Davis, Kayla Kasprzak and Julia Kasprzak; sister Gloria Lemke and spouse Ken, brothers Charles Piek and David Piek and spouse Cathy; three grand-children, Alison, Keith and Adrian; nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. April loved her children and family. April enjoyed family holidays when her children were young and played cards (poker) with the Davis family for many years. April had a fun and humorous personality, always joking around. April was outgoing and friendly. Her sister remembers her as a risk taker, adventurous growing up together. If you knew April, you would often hear her say since Alberts passing in 2012, how much she missed him every day and that it hurt. Knowing April is with Albert brings peace to her family at this time. Rest in peace April, you are loved by your family and will be missed. No funeral services will be scheduled at this time due to the current pandemic. Future services to be arranged at a later time. Interment is planned to be at Albert’s side at Woodlawn Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
